Making art is my voice, my way of appreciating the earth and celebrating life.  Growing up in rural Kentucky has heavily influenced the direction of my art.  My inspiration comes from nature and its inhabitants.  The lens through which I see the world arouses a spirit in me that is recorded in various ways. Sometimes I take a photograph, create something in clay, paint, draw or do whatever suits my needs. I am constantly experimenting with new medium trying to capture the beauty of the earth.  Currently I am making handmade clay tile, tile murals and garden sculpture; watercolors of trees and birds; and photographs as they present themselves. I feel connected to the earth by working in clay, sharing its mysteries, wonders and beauties.  A common subject matter found in my work is birds, trees and leaves. The simplicity of nature is beautiful and often overlooked. I feel compelled to capture the magic of it all. My art is the footprint I am leaving on earth. It is a record of what is important to me. I hope beauty and harmony are felt by the viewer. Sometimes it tells a story, or provides a thought provoking lens for viewing. The feeling it transfers is yours to keep and reflect upon.  .
